Heavy Choir is a for-purpose performing arts organisation, with a vision to unite metal-heads from all walks of life in harmony. Formed in Melbourne’s inner south-east, Heavy Choir is Australia’s only dedicated choir for people who love singing heavy metal and rock. Beginning in April 2021 and having since grown a highly cohesive and welcoming community of adult singers of all abilities, they have presented sold out shows to nostalgic fans of heavy metal. Their mission is to amplify the wellbeing benefits of singing heavy metal together, by creating fun and inclusive choral communities for all metal-heads and misfits across Melbourne and beyond.

The logo features an illustrative element that shows the top view of the larynx which houses the vocal chords. A pair of goat horns protrudes from the top, framing the larynx and creating a unique demonic looking character, with the details in the top half of the larynx seeming to house a set of eyes. This encompasses both the metal/rock elements with the singing.
The typography is a tall glyphic serif with a gothic undertone. It features sharp point and angled stems which are reminiscent of the brands origional typography. The letterforms are elongated with some rounded and decorative shaping that is inspired by tall cathedral windows. A small inverted pentagram, a common symbol associated with metal music, sits at the bottom of the design which helps define an overall balance and acts like a finishing point for the design.
